  • Red Wine Vinaigrette contains 2.8% Salted Cabernet Sauvignon.
  • Fat Free Red Wine Vinaigrette contains 9.7% Cabernet Sauvignon.
It varies by dressing formula; it can range between 10-15 months. Please also refer to the "best by" dates printed on the packaging and note storage guidelines.
We recommend the following storage guidelines for optimal results:
  • Un-opened dressings/marinades should be stored in a cool, dry place (70 F or below).
  • After opening liquid dressings/marinades, refrigerate on refrigerator door “for best quality” and use within 4 weeks.
    • Vinegar and Oil dressings may separate during refrigeration and the olive oil may cloud and/or thicken.
    • Allow refrigerated dressings to come to room temperature before serving so that ingredients blend more easily.
  • Do not freeze dressings/marinades, as quality and texture of product may be affected; product may also expand within bottle, possibly resulting in bottle breakage.
  • After preparing the Dry dressing, unused product should be stored in the refrigerator and used within 4 weeks.
It varies by dressing flavor. In 2010 HFCS was removed from a wide range of our dressings. Products affected are noted on the bottle’s back label under the ingredients section.
Please be assured there would not be a safety concern if you were to use an item beyond its recommended use by date. It is important to note that all of our products contain a “best by” date, which is different than an “Expiration Date”.
The reason we do not recommend using a product beyond the “best by” date is so that we can ensure quality, such as taste and consistency.
The “best by” date is determined based on quality testing from the date of manufacturing. Once this time period has lapsed, we can no longer ensure that the overall experience of the product will be what is needed.
Bottles: Newly designed bottles are recyclable and can be recycled anywhere that accepts items with the #1 code. Bottles use PETE plastic, common for food and beverage packaging (i.e. water, soda, mayonnaise and peanut butter jar).
Caps: All Wish-Bone caps are made from polypropylene (PP, “5” for recycling; code not printed on cap).
Boxes: Outer cardboard box may be recycled; however individual envelopes are non-recyclable.
  • Each recipe will vary on the amounts to use. If you are not following a recipe or the amount of the ingredient is not listed on the recipe a good rule of thumb is about ½ cup of marinade per pound of meat.
  • Cover containers containing marinating meats.
  • DO NOT reuse leftover marinade for other food.
  • Marinate in a food-safe plastic bag or non-reactive container such as glass or ceramic, not aluminum. Do not marinate in aluminum containers or foil, because a chemical reaction could spoil the food.
POULTRY: Marinate poultry for 15 minutes to 3 hours.
SEAFOOD: Fish or shrimp need only 20-30 minutes to marinate. Some larger thick filets can marinate an hour or more.
Note: Over marinating seafood can cause the flesh of the fish to become mushy.
STEAKS: Marinate less tender steaks such as flank for 3 hours to 24 hours. Tender steaks such as sirloin can be marinated 15 minutes to 2 hours, to flavor the meat.
VEGETABLES: All vegetables can be marinated in the refrigerator in a vinaigrette dressing for up to 10 hours.
Regular Italian is more herbal (oregano/basil, although still is garlicy-oniony). Robusto Italian is darker, with black pepper, has higher salt content, and is more highly flavored (garlic/onion).
The source of modified food starch used in Wish-Bone dressings is corn.
Dry Dressings – Bottom of carton and printed on individual envelopes.
